Reallocation should be completed relying upon the necessity and achievability of the organization. Contingent upon the assignment, work-understanding of a specific worker, he/she would be given the need to serve the association agreeing not influencing the business progression plan and meeting the expectations in time. Normal Audits will be held at those which were appeared to the customers toward the beginning up. Asset Planning and Resource Management as indicated by the business should be booked. As Cognizant applies Two-In-A-Box Module, available/Offshore Delivery module, they will in general have more asset quality at seaward than on location as the CTC would be expanding if the on-boarded individuals are in huge number. Question: Talk about the Decision Making and Problem Solving. Answer: Presentation: Examination of the business tasks of Apple shows that the business experiences flexibly chain issues. In itself, working conditions in various assembling areas of Apple Inc is essentially an issue in the gracefully chain of the organization (Zsambok 2014). The amassing accomplice of Apple Inc that is Foxconn has likewise articulated about having poor conditions. Fundamentally, in processing plant of Foxconn, their premise of laborers additionally should be a theme for additional conversation just as thought. According to a report distributed in the year 2010, far beyond 900000 representatives in the stockrooms and heaps of them were fundamentally understudies that were between the age scopes of 16 years to 18 years who were constrained to take a shot at the line for a long time (Apple 2017). Likewise, the Chinese distribution centers additionally have a few laborers who are constrained to work extra time on a customary way. In like manner, out of 20 specialists who endeavored self destruction, around 14 of them prevailing in their endeavors, in current history. Besides, providers of Apple don't have the capacity to create sufficient parts for the interest of the item. Despite the fact that Apple Inc has a few providers all around the world, when the whole chain of flexibly is assessed piece by piece, it very well may be seen that a few constituents are chips just as LCD boards. Probably the biggest provider of LCD screen has the arrangement to end giving various items to Apple as uncovered in The Korea Times, as the Korean organization no longer thinks that its beneficial to continue helping out Apple. Inferable from this, Apple may be left with just two providers of LCD screens who have def icient experience. All things considered, the two providers LGD and AUO are the ones Apple needs to help. In any case, the executives of Apple Inc makes forceful strides during the period goodness occasions. As request of various items can get improved during the period the executives of Apple can put arranges via air instead of ocean. Besides, Apple has an industrial facility in California with the goal that the enterprise orders various items f rom the manufacturing plant, bringing about disentangled procedure of gracefully chain (Apple 2017). Retail locations of Apple essentially go about as a stocking point between both upstream just as downstream. Definition and Discussion of Enlightenment Rhetoric

The expression  Enlightenment rhetoric refers to the study and practice of rhetoric from the mid-seventeenth century to the early part of the nineteenth century. Influential rhetorical works from this period include George Campbells Philosophy of Rhetoric, first published in 1776, and Hugh Blairs Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres, first published in 1783. George Campbell, who lived from 1719 to 1796, was a Scottish minister, theologian, and philosopher of rhetoric. Hugh Blair, who lived from 1718 to 1800, was a Scottish minister, teacher, editor, and rhetorician. Campbell and Blair are just two of the many important figures associated with the Scottish Enlightenment. As Winifred Bryan Horner notes in the Encyclopedia of Rhetoric and Composition, Scottish rhetoric in the 18th century was broadly influential, especially in the formation of the North American composition course as well as in the development of 19th- and 20th-century rhetorical theory and pedagogy. 18th-Century Era of Enlightenment Rhetoric Essays written on rhetoric and style in the 1700s include Of Eloquence by Oliver Goldsmith and Of Simplicity and Refinement in Writing by David Hume. On Conciseness of Style in Writing and Conversation by Vicesimus Knox and Samuel Johnson on the Bugbear Style were also produced during this era. Periods of Western Rhetoric Western rhetoric can be divided into distinct categories: classical rhetoric, medieval rhetoric, Renaissance rhetoric, 19th-century rhetoric, and new rhetoric(s). Bacon and Locke Thomas P. Miller, Eighteenth-Century Rhetoric British advocates of enlightenment grudgingly accepted that while logic could inform the reason, rhetoric was necessary to rouse the will to action. As propounded in [Francis] Bacons Advancement of Learning (1605), this model of the mental faculties established the general frame of reference for efforts to define rhetoric according to the workings of the individual consciousness...Like such successors as [John] Locke, Bacon was a practicing rhetor active in the politics of his time, and his practical experience led him to recognize that rhetoric was an inevitable part of civic life. Although Lockes Essay Concerning Human Understanding (1690) criticized rhetoric for exploiting the artifices of language to promote factional divisions, Locke himself had lectured on rhetoric at Oxford in 1663, responding to the popular interest in the powers of persuasion that has overcome philosophical reservations about rhetoric in periods of political change. Overview of Rhetoric in the Enlightenment Patricia Bizzell and Bruce Herzberg, The Rhetorical Tradition: Readings From Classic Times to the Present Toward the end of the 17th century, traditional rhetoric came to be closely associated with the genres of history, poetry, and literary criticism, the so-called belles lettres — a connection that persisted well into the 19th century. Before the end of the 17th century, however, traditional rhetoric came under attack by adherents of the new science, who claimed that rhetoric obscured the truth by encouraging the use of ornamented rather than plain, direct language...The call for a plain style, taken up by church leaders and influential writers, made perspicuity, or clarity, a watchword in discussions of ideal style during the ensuing centuries. An even more profound and direct influence on rhetoric at the beginning of the 17th century was Francis Bacons theory of psychology...It was not until the middle of the 18th century, however, that a complete psychological or epistemological theory of rhetoric arose, one that focused on appealing to the mental faculties in order to persuade...the elocution movement, which focused on delivery, began early in the 18th century and lasted through the 19th. Lord Chesterfield on the Art of Speaking Lord Chesterfield (Philip Dormer Stanhope), letter to his son Let us return to oratory, or the art of speaking well; which should never be entirely out of your thoughts, since it is so useful in every part of life, and so absolutely necessary in most. A man can make no figure without it, in parliament, in the church, or in the law; and even in common conversation, a man that has acquired an easy and habitual eloquence, who speaks properly and accurately, will have a great advantage over those who speak incorrectly and inelegantly. The business of oratory, as I have told you before, is to persuade people; and you easily feel, that to please people is a great step towards persuading them. You must then, consequently, be sensible how advantageous it is for a man, who speaks in public, whether it be in parliament, in the pulpit, or at the bar (that is, in the courts of law), to please his hearers so much as to gain their attention; which he can never do without the help of oratory. It is not enough to speak the language he speaks in, in its utmost purity, and according to the rules of grammar, but he must speak it elegantly, that is, he must choose the best and most expressive words, and put them in the best order. He should likewise adorn what he says by proper metaphors, similes, and other figures of rhetoric; and he should enliven it, if he can, by quick and sprightly turns of wit. Philosophy of Rhetoric Jeffrey M. Suderman, Orthodoxy and Enlightenment: George Campbell in the Eighteenth Century Modern rhetoricians agree that [George Campbells] Philosophy of Rhetoric pointed the way to the new country, in which the study of human nature would become the foundation of the oratorical arts. A leading historian of British rhetoric has called this work the most important rhetorical text to emerge from the 18th century, and a considerable number of dissertations and articles in specialized journals have eked out the details of Campbells contribution to modern rhetorical theory. Alexander Broadie, The Scottish Enlightenment Reader One cannot go far into rhetoric without encountering the concept of a faculty of the mind, for in any rhetorical exercise the faculties of intellect, imagination, emotion (or passion), and will are exercised. It is therefore natural that George Campbell attends to them in The Philosophy of Rhetoric. These four faculties are appropriately ordered in the above way in rhetorical studies, for the orator first has an idea, whose location is the intellect. By an act of imagination, the idea is then expressed in suitable words. These words produce a response in the form of an emotion in the audience, and the emotion inclines the audience to will the acts that the orator has in mind for them. Arthur E. Walzer, George Campbell: Rhetoric in the Age of Enlightenment While scholars have attended to the 18th-century influences on Campbells work, Campbells debt to the ancient rhetoricians has received less attention. Campbell learned a great deal from the rhetorical tradition and is very much a product of it. Quintilians Institutes of Oratory is the most comprehensive embodiment of classical rhetoric ever written, and Campbell apparently regarded this work with a respect that bordered on reverence. Although the Philosophy of Rhetoric is often presented as paradigmatic of a new rhetoric, Campbell did not intend to challenge Quintilian. Quite the contrary: he sees his work as confirmation of Quintilians view, believing that the psychological insights of 18th-century empiricism would only deepen our appreciation for the classical rhetorical tradition. Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres James A. Herrick, The History and Theory of Rhetoric [Hugh] Blair defines style as the peculiar manner in which a man expresses his conceptions, by means of language. Thus, style is for Blair a very broad category of concern. Moreover, style is related to ones manner of thinking. Thus, when we are examining an authors composition, it is, in many cases, extremely difficult to separate the style from the sentiment. Blair was apparently of the opinion, then, that ones style — ones manner of linguistic expression — provided evidence of how one thought. Practical matters..are at the heart of the study of style for Blair. Rhetoric seeks to make a point persuasively. Thus, rhetorical style must attract an audience and present a case clearly. Of perspicuity, or clarity, Blair writes that there is no concern more central to style. After all, if clarity is lacking in a message, all is lost. Claiming that your subject is difficult is no excuse for lack of clarity, according to Blair: if you cant explain a difficult subject clearly, you probably dont understand it...Much of Blairs counsel to his young readers includes such reminders as any words, which do not add some importance to the meaning of a sentence, always spoil it. Winifred Bryan Horner, Eighteenth-Century Rhetoric Blairs Lectures on Rhetoric and Belles Lettres was adopted at Brown in 1783, at Yale in 1785, at Harvard in 1788, and by the end of the century was the standard text at most American colleges...Blairs concept of taste, an important doctrine of the 18th century, was adopted worldwide in the English-speaking countries. Taste was considered an inborn quality that could be improved through cultivation and study. This concept found a ready acceptance, particularly in the provinces of Scotland and North America, where improvement became a basic tenet, and beauty and good were closely connected. The study of English literature spread as rhetoric turned from a generative to an interpretive study. Finally, rhetoric and criticism became synonymous, and both became sciences with English literature as the observable physical data. Sources Bacon, Francis. Advancement of Learning. Made to Order Babies Free Essays

Imagine sitting down at a table and being handed a menu, but this is no ordinary menu to order food off of. No, this menu is at a medical clinic and it’s the menu to your new customized â€Å"designer baby†. Technology has advanced so much in the past couple years that this situation could happen very soon. We will write a custom essay sample on Made to Order Babies or any similar topic only for you Order Now If not in your lifetime, then in that of your children’s. What is a â€Å"designer baby†? It’s exactly as the words imply; a baby genetically modified to what the parents call â€Å"the perfect baby†. Today, the sex of the baby, the hair color, and the eye color can all be modified to the choice of the parent. And soon other things will be possible, such as modifying genetic defects in a baby. All of this would probably sound very appealing to someone that is just being introduced to the topic, but what about the side effects? Are there any? Is there any possibility that the baby will come out harmed or with some other defect that was caused by a â€Å"modification†? There are no answers for these questions, because even scientists and doctors do not know. So, should society take the risk of harming innocent babies to try and create â€Å"the perfect baby†? No, we should not. The â€Å"designer baby† is immoral and should be illegal. Nobody knows the side effects of modifying a baby, not even the scientists who conduct the research. Not only physical side effects, but also emotional and societal side effects. We do not know how society would perceive a genetically modified human. Procedures that are done to modify a baby include terminating some embryos. There are a lot of people who would see this action as immoral. If there are riots outside of clinics because they think of abortion as being immoral, those same people would most likely riot in protest to â€Å"designer babies†. There is also the question as to what will happen once everyone is â€Å"perfect† and â€Å"perfectly modified†. What will these â€Å"perfect† people think of those who already have genetic defects? They may think of them as inferior, and look down on them. That could lead to a new type of â€Å"genetic† discrimination (Baird 12-16). If laws were made against being able to design babies, then we would not have to worry about these problems. In 2009 an article titled Designing Rules for Designer Babies was published in the Scientific American magazine. The article says: In the U. S. , no binding rules deter a private clinic from offering a menu of traits or from implanting a woman with a collection of embryos. Physicians who may receive more than $10,000 for a procedure serve as the sole arbiters of a series of thorny ethical, safety and social welfare questions (29). With no binding laws or rules to this, some doctors will do the procedures just to get the money. It would definitely bring up questions about the doctors morals and if he/she really cares about their patients. Take, for example, Nadya Suleman, whom was implanted with genetically altered embryos. The doctor implanted her with a collection of six embryos. Two of those embryos split, making her pregnant with eight children. It does make everyone question her, but also the doctor. Did he take into account that she already had six children? Did he consider her financial status? (Designing Rules 29) Another question to ask is; how far do we go in â€Å"designing† our babies? The same article from Scientific American gives a perfect example of a situation that could happen: We could get carried away â€Å"correcting† perfectly healthy babies. Once we start down the slippery slope of eliminating embryos because they are diseased, what is to stop us from picking babies for their physical or psychological traits? What if this does happen? We could create a whole new generation based on what traits are the best for someone, or how knowledgeable everyone should be. In doing this, are we not doing the same thing Hitler tried to do; create the perfect humans? It didn’t get him very far, and won’t get society anywhere today. Some might say that designing a baby would be a great thing. That we could cure diseases and disorders before the baby is even born. But when a baby is â€Å"designed to get â€Å"rid† of disease and disorders, there are embryos that are killed in order to find â€Å"the perfect baby†. It could be considered the same thing as abortion. Our technological advances in the past couple years have greatly enhanced ociety. There are also technologies that will harm society. The â€Å"designer baby† is one of those technologies. It sounds very appealing to be able to create the child that you have always wanted, but we have always said that we were created the way we are for a reason, and we should keep saying that. No one knows the side effects of creating our babies, they could come out monsters f or all we know. If laws were put into effect against the â€Å"designer baby†, then we would be safe from these â€Å"monsters†. How to cite Made to Order Babies, Papers

Round River By Aldo Leopold Essays - Environmental Ethics

Round River by Aldo Leopold In the essay the "Round River" Aldo Leopold was trying to say many different ideas that related together in the fight for nature preservation and restoration. One of Aldo Leopolds main points in his essay was that we as humans can not replace, rebuild nature. So before it goes to far, and get's to destroyed we must restore it. As people though we can only do so much and we can't restore it with foreign plants, but only the natural plants that originated there. So if we destroy an area's ecosystem then we can never restore, and replenish it to its original state and land consistency. In his essay Leopold said that "we have radically modified the biotic system because we had to. Food chains now begin with corn, and alfalfa instead of oaks and bluestem, flows through cows, hogs, and poultry instead of into elk, deer, and grouse." Therefore we can never restore damage done but only reroute it. Another point in his essay is that all land is one mechanism and if you damage one part then you intern damage or affect another part. So we cannot fully preserve land because our scientists cannot recognize all of the earth's mechanisms. For instance if you kill the wolves then the rabbit and deer population may rise without as high of predation. Another major point in his essay is that if we are going to prevent a species from extinction we must do it everywhere not just in one specific place. The worlds whale population is not going to rise if only the United States bans whale hunting. And if we don't enforce poaching laws and regulations. This also refers to if you tamper with one organism you affect a lot more. If we kill all the whales not only can we not use them but larger sea predators like sharks can't either. So they will be forced to feed on smaller sea life and then damage our sea food supply by eating other fish that we eat. So we as a whole must conserve on our supplies of natural objects with our exponentially growing population. We are also over concerned with now compared to the future which I believe to be more important . The world is to caught up in todays tinkerings to think about the end effects. Leopold stated "that with each substitution of a tame plant or animal for a wild one, or an artificial waterway for a natural one is accompanied by a readjustment in the circulating system of the land." We do not foresee or understand these things unless it affects us . The essay has defiantly stood the test of time well, or why else would I have to read and write about it now? All of his major points in the essay have proved themselves true and are still being referred to by scientists and naturalists today.

The Secret to Writing Great Headlines for News Stories

The Secret to Writing Great Headlines for News Stories Youve edited a news story for grammar, AP Style, content and so on, and are laying it out on the page, or about to upload it to your website. Now comes one of the most interesting, challenging and important parts of the editing process: writing a headline. Writing great headlines is an art. You can bang out the most interesting article ever written, but if it doesnt have an attention-grabbing headline, its likely to be passed over. Whether youre at a newspaper, news website, or blog, a great headline (or hed) will always get more eyeballs scanning your copy. A Challenging Endeavor The challenge is to write a head thats as compelling, catchy and detailed as possible, using as few words as possible. Headlines, after all, have to fit the space theyre given on the page. Headline size is determined by three parameters: the width, defined by the number of columns the hed will have; the depth, the meaning is the head one line or two (known by editors as a single deck or a double deck;) and the font size. Headlines can run anywhere from something small - say 18 point -Â  all the way up to banner front-page heds that can be 72 points or bigger. So if your head is designated as a 36 point three-column double-decker, you know it will be in a 36 point font, running across three columns and with two lines. Obviously, there are many different kinds of fonts; Times New Roman is one of the fonts most commonly used in newspapers, but thats something each individual paper or website decides on. So if youre assigned to write a five-column, two-line, 28 point double-deck hed, you know youre going to have a lot more room to work with that if youre given a two-column, one-line hed in a 36 point font. Whatever the length, the headline should be the best one possible within the space allotted. Unlike newspaper pages, stories on websites can, in theory at least, be much longer, since space is less of a consideration. No one wants to read a headline that goes on forever, and website headlines need to be just as catchy as ones in print. Indeed, headline writers for websites use Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, to try to get more people to view their content. Here are some headline-writing tips to follow: Be Accurate This is most important. A headline should entice readers but it shouldnt oversell or distort what the story is about. Always stay true to the spirit and meaning of the article. Keep It Short This seems obvious; headlines are by nature short. But when space limitations arent a consideration (as on a blog, for instance) writers sometimes get verbose with their heads. Shorter is better. Fill the Space If youre writing a headline to fill a specific space in a newspaper, avoid leaving too much empty space (what editors call white space) at the end of the head. Always fill the specified space as best you can. Dont Repeat the Lede The headline, like the lede, should focus on the main point of the story. But if the head and the lede are too similar the lede will become redundant. Try to use slightly different wording in the headline. Be Direct Headlines arent the place to be obscure; a direct, straightforward headline gets your point across more effectively. Use Active Voice Remember the Subject-Verb-Object formula from news writing? Thats also the best model for headlines. Start with your subject, write in the active voice, and your headline will convey more information using fewer words. Write in Present Tense Even if most news stories are written in the past tense, headlines should almost always use the present tense. Avoid Bad Breaks A bad break is when a hed with more than one line splits a prepositional phrase, an adjective, and noun, an adverb and verb, or a proper name. Example: Obama hosts WhiteHouse dinner Obviously, White House should not be split from the first line to the second. Heres a better way to do it: Obama hosts dinnerat the White House Make Your Headline Appropriate to the Story A humorous headline may work with a lighthearted story, but it most definitely wouldnt be appropriate for an article about someone being murdered. The tone of the headline should match the tone of the story. Know Where to Capitalize Always capitalize the first word of the headline and any proper names. Dont capitalize every word unless thats the style of your particular publication.

The Assassination of Leon Trotsky

The Assassination of Leon Trotsky Leon Trotsky, a leader of the 1917 Russian Revolution, had been one of the possible successors to V. I. Lenin. When Joseph Stalin won the power struggle for Soviet leadership, Trotsky was exiled from the Soviet Union. Exile wasnt enough for Stalin, however, and he sent assassins to kill Trotsky. Trotsky was attacked  on August 20, 1940, by an ice pick; he died a day later. The Assassination of Leon Trotsky Around 5:30 p.m. on August 20, 1940, Leon Trotsky was sitting at his desk in his study, helping Ramon Mercader (known to him as Frank Jackson) edit an article. Mercader waited until Trotsky started to read the article, then snuck up behind Trotsky and slammed a mountaineering ice pick into Trotskys skull. Trotsky fought back and even remained standing long enough to say his murderers name to those coming to his aid. When Trotskys bodyguards found Mercader, they began beating him and only stopped when Trotsky himself said, Dont kill him. He must talk! Trotsky was taken to a local hospital, where the doctors tried to save him by twice operating on his brain. Unfortunately, the damage was too severe. Trotsky died at the hospital on August 21, 1940, just over 25 hours after being attacked. Trotsky was 60 years old. The Assassin Mercader was handed over to the Mexican police and claimed his name was Jacques Mornard (his real identity wasnt discovered until 1953). Mercader was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 20 years in jail. He was released from jail in 1960.

Obesity Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 4000 words

Obesity - Essay Example n Food Standards Agency and DOH, 2004) Roughly 65% and 50% men and women are overweight and have the tendency to be obese in case their weight gain remains uncontrolled. Considering that obesity could cause a person to deal with social adjustment disorders or social discrimination (Pearce et al., 2002) aside from a long list of serious health concerns related to heart diseases, diabetes and the different types of cancer (WHO, 2003, 2005a), the need to determine the impact of promoting organic foods on the high levels of obesity arises. For the purpose of this study, the researcher will conduct an extensive literature review on the general facts about obesity, the major causes of obesity, the negative consequences of obesity in terms of one’s health, social being, and economic losses. Eventually, the researcher will determine the status of promoting organic foods in UK followed by the benefits of organic food production to our health, environment, and our society in terms of analyzing the economic and social impact of promoting organic foods in the case of the high incidence of obesity in UK. Eventually, the researcher will discuss the literature review in line with the business opportunity that is present in relation to organic food production. Obesity is defined as â€Å"an excess of body fat that frequently lead to a significant impairment over a person’s health and longevity.† (House of Commons Health Committee, 2004) Based on the federal guidelines (Berg, 2003; NHLBI, 1998), a normal weight is computed using the Body Mass Index (BMI) wherein the normal range for an adult should be between 18.5 to less than 25 (BMI 18.5 to 25 kg/m2). BMI measurement between the ranges of 25 to less than 30 (BMI 25 to 30 kg/m2) is considered overweight and BMI measurement that exceeds 30 (BMI ≠¥ 30 kg/m2) is considered obese. In general, medical practitioners are using the formula â€Å"weight in pounds divided by height in inches squared multiplied by 703 or weight in

Main motivation for corporate social and environmental reporting Essay

Main motivation for corporate social and environmental reporting - Essay Example Those businesses that are responsible for their operations and other actions are at the heart of the community. The Organizations that understand their various links with society members they work with and their effects on the environment are likely to flourish in the end. Gilbert et al. (2011) noted that reporting on the environmental performance of the business benefits them in many ways such as motivating internal and external citizens to invest in the business. This essay is going to discuss the main motivation for corporate social and environmental reporting. The essay will begin by briefly explaining corporate social report, corporate image, corporate credibility, and the stakeholder theory that will enable us to understand the reasons why corporate social and environmental reporting is important. Delmas and Toffel (2011) defined corporate social responsibility (CSR) as a process whereby enterprises take initiative to evaluate and accept responsibilities for the business consequences on the surrounding environment and the results on the social welfare of the citizens in their locality. Corporate social reporting may incur short-term costs that may not provide financial profits to the business immediately but rather enhances a positive environmental and social change for the organization. Dilling (2009) observed that many large enterprises have devoted their money and real time to social welfare initiatives, environmental sustainability programs, and alternative energy sources in order to benefit and motivate more customers, employees and the society. Delmas and Montes-Sancho (2011) defined corporate image as the overall representation of a firm in the diverse minds of the public such as investors, customers and the employees. The mental picture comes up when the business name is mentioned because of certain activities they do in their Company. Deegan (2002) noted corporate

Business Proposal for Child Development Strategy

Business Proposal for Child Development Strategy 1.0 Executive Summary As business evolved the main factors deciding the normal pursue of a companys activity could be a huge range with different variables, however when specifying about the absolute basic, the foundations of which actions that build up a business all the way from the bottom, then we are usually referring to the marketing plan. the marketing plan includes many steps, but more importantly, who is interested in buying the product? identifying a certain group of people with similar characteristics including demographics, psychographics and many more is what is known as a segment of the market (Sturman, Corgel and Verma, 2011). During the pass of time in the last 30 years, it could be said that miracles have been invented, but do these miracles come without a cost? No, everything has a cost, however in this concerning issue it is not just about value for money, as technology advanced significantly in the rise of the century, the human brain has slowly been shutting down, applications specific ally like snapchat and vines is the reason that now most of the secondary school students would have short attention span, the kids do not realise it but the effects of 10 seconds short videos constantly as well as randomly changing causing the brain to procrastinate (Hooton, 2017). 2.0 Segment Framing Psychotherapy for kids suffering to learn, usually labelled by psychiatrists as ADHD or Dyslexia in the past has always been a burden or one of the hard states of mind to overcome, it is not to be cured. The methods developed for treating this kind of issue has not always been the best in psychotherapy, usually either the downside is too harsh or it is not effective, cause doing the simple act of telling a 5th grader to do his homework is well-known as the least effective. A study has shown that out of 50 children from the ages of 6-16 around 62% found that doing absolutely nothing is better than studying (Prakash and Mitra, 2008). There are two types of treatment when it comes to any sort of attention disorder, medication and treatment programmes. The huge issue faced by such patients is that usually the only effective approach is the pharmacological products engineered for such issues (Antshel et al., 2017). many doctors have repeated over and over again about the psychological and physical life dependency associated with such medication, if the pill is taken then the student will be able to learn, if not then the student will fail to accomplish the easiest and most simple of tasks, not to mention the other soul sucking clinical side effects, for instance depression and ease to anger, it could even develop as the student grows up to suicidal thoughts (JG, 2017). Treatment programmes that have been developed up till this moment are not that efficient, however there is one that has shown significance in the students life. Dekko comics is a company producing comics purely for education or providing an individual with a criterion of information through the comic, what psychologists have missed while targeting such disorders, is what does the student want to do, other than doing what is right approach, as students at this age are not fully mature. psychology clearly provided that if a person with attention disorder manages to find a subject or a routine where his self-owned interests , that same person with the attention disorder will generate thoughts much better than a normal person, that is because that a person who has attention problems usually has those problems because of the high speed generation of thoughts, not in all but rather most therefore such students get on what is known by psychologists as the hyper focus mode, it is triggered by many ways such as life threatening situation, for instance the night before the exam, or the other side of the moon, put simply a topic of certain interest for growing students in any range, 8-16 is the identified psychologically, realistically or rather marketing wise 10-14 is the accurate major(Ozel-Kizil and Kokurcan, 2017) which in case of the segment targeted having students reading narratives off a colourful comic with characters is an appeal to students compared to having black and white pages of vocabulary or non-endless lines of stories, it just appeals more in general. Far from the fact o f comic to learn, the products produced by dekko comics has also shown that if we reverse the equation it is still useful and fun, so the product is not necessarily purchased for purely education, it could also be a gadget of productive time wasting in leisure time. Such method is not only useful in secondary school, some of the qualified higher educational organisations have developed such strategies for themselves in a more complex manner suiting the customers, for example The University of Florida has its own developed comic department where students involved in such topics of studies and research (Research Guides: Graphic Novels and Comics: Journals and Online resources, 2017). 3.0 Engagement campaign `Dekko Comics main purpose is to be able to teach children in an interactive and enjoyable way. it has also been established that Dekko Comics product is able to aid students with learning disabilities such as; ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, and dysgraphia (meanings in appendix 1) to list a few. According to Stalikas and Fitzpatrick, (2008), psychotherapy concentrates on the negative emotion of the experience rather than a more positive side. To elaborate further, Dekko Comics aims to treat learning disabilities in a more positive manner. Introducing an increasing positive attitude that may not be present in clinical psychology, may have an effect on the effectiveness of psychological treatment. By working alongside qualified psychotherapists, Dekko comics will be able to retain its educational background, whilst simultaneously expanding to a new and highly profitable market. Thus, by specifically targeting children aged between 8-14 years old and presenting comics that can aid in many aids th em in therapy sessions. Contrary to popular belief, the main aim of psychotherapy is not the direct treatment of the patient, however, the way psychotherapy is used in treatment highly differs from the normal medical treatment. Psychotherapy aims to clarify misunderstandings that the patient might have and not presenting any sure solutions to the patient; rather, psychotherapists aim to direct the patient to their own conclusion. Effectively, it teaches the patient to critically think and overcome their ailment independently. More severe illnesses, however, such as OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) use different types of psychotherapy, such CBT (Cognitive-behavioural Therapy) whereby the patient conducts certain activities with their therapists that involve directly dealing with their disability. The final aim of CBT is for the patient to be able to overcome their fear and eventually cope with it without the use of any medicine. Although, patients who have been recommended this type of treatment have seen a large amount of dropout rate (Manceho, et al., 2011). Since CBT still takes design aspects from normal psychotherapy (where the patient reaches their own conclusion), it can be heavily implied that dropout rate in CBT treatment can be attributed to the patients own willingness to cooperate and attend their therapy sessions. Furthermore, psychotherapy is quite a dated treatment, introducing a product such as Dekko Comics to this market it can create a more attractive environment to the consumer. Ergo, dropout rates of psychotherapeutic treatment might decrease overall, which in turn will increase its effectiveness. According to Farell et al., (2016), in a study that looked at the effectiveness of CBT treatment among youth aged between 11-16 years old around 80% of which were considered to be in an improved state after treatment. However, post-treatment 60% of patients were experiencing the original symptoms and 6 months later this increase to 70%. This fundamentally states that CBT can be highly effective along the short-term, however, its effectiveness decreases overtime. By implanting a semantic meaning to patients within psychotherapy, which as stated by Schendan, (2012), that human functions emerge in the semantic network which is caused by the interaction between language and mental simulation. Therefore, by providing meaning or semantics via comics to the patient it can aid them in easily retrieving memories about their treatment sessions, this in turn might aid in increasing the effectiveness of CBT on the long-term and decrease the rate of re-emergence Mackenzie et al., (2014) conducted a study that consisted of 6796 students, and ran for 40 years (1968-2008). This study aimed to find the rates of treatment seeking within participants, the results collected from this study concluded that over-time peoples attitudes towards therapy has become negative and therefore the market for psychotherapy seems to be declining in size. Furthermore, Mackenzie et al., (2014) stated that the main reason as to why people have been increasingly negative towards therapy is due to the exponential increase in the use of mental health medicine in the mental health industry. However, by deviating from the emphasis on the use of prescriptions drugs; by integrating Dekko Comics into the market the increasing negative stigma about therapy might change and peoples attitudes towards psychotherapy can ultimately increase the rates of treatment seeking. This is especially relevant as an increase in healthier alternative ways of treatment might attract customers who might be just against the use of mental health medicine on younger children. Furthermore, the use of Dekko Comics in this specific industry can increase the profitability of the market, as it has been proved to be efficient the product was when presented in schools. NHS (National Health Service) was chosen to action this proposal as it is the main healthcare system in the United Kingdom. Working alongside the NHS Dekko Comics might be able to produce a new line of comics that cater to children aging between 8-14 years with mental health disabilities, as this age demographic might respond more positively with the use of comics in treatment as it is more interactive, enjoyable and age appropriate. Out of 500-pound budget 300 pounds will be spent on researching and developing the new product. If its approved by qualified professionals, which entails that this treatment has to have a high degree of success with patients, 200 pounds will then be used to hold an event at that can be sponsored by the NHS that will increase awareness about mental health issues, as well as state the integration of Dekko Comics into a medical and educational background. Through this event Dekko Comics will get the more media coverage. Ergo, through more coverage Dekko Com ics might increase in popularity and overall use, which is fundamentally important for a start-up such as Dekko Comics. 4.0 Limitations and conclusions This proposal still faces a few challenges, as well as containing a few limiting factors that might affect how successful this proposal can be. To list a few, 500-pound budget was very limiting aspect of designing this proposal as it limited how much can be done. The integration of comics as a use of treatment might also prove to be difficult or ineffective in a practical environment. Furthermore, this market might prove to have a very small profit margin, which in turn would simply cause a loss for Dekko Comics. Although, this study does contain its limitations it is still able to integrate Dekko Comics into other markets, which will inadvertently generate revenue and increase popularity and knowledge of the company. The Future Economy

Imagine yourself living the dream of being an entrepreneur. You are a business man of the 21st century; you have a popular product that many firms want to purchase. You feel financially secure with your future because of the amount of buyers for your product. Then 5 years go bye, and the once abundant number of firms has dwindled down to a couple of major corporations. You try to think to yourself how did this happen? You then realize that all the little companies that fought for your business, and helped you get the highest capital are gone. They were acquired by or merged with larger firms. You know that when this happens the market gets smaller and there are less people to buy your product. With fewer options of companies to sell your product to, comes a smaller amount of profit for you. Two more years go bye and the market gets more concentrated, the remaining giants can now offer you any price they want. If you choose not to accept it, you don†t sell your product. Your dreams of being your own boss and selling a quality product for a fair price are fading away. Some people may think that this story couldn†t happen, but mergers and acquisitions take place everyday in the corporate world. This story that I just told you about is real. Instead of being about business men of the 21st century my article was about the beef cattle farmers of southwestern Wisconsin. The article talks about Virginia-based Smithfield foods, acquired American Foods Group and Packerland Holdings Co. Smithfield is the nation†s largest pork processor; they have a 20% market share. Besides the two recent acquisitions Smithfield also has ownership of Cudahy-based Patrick Cudahy Inc. As a result of this Smithfield will now be the nation†s forth-largest beef processor, with a 9% market share. Smithfield†s merger is part of an overall consolidation among the nation†s larger food processors, which includes the companies of the nation†s beef industry. Wisconsin is known to many people as the dairy state because of our cheese and milk production. While this is true, when the dairy cows get older and there milk production drops they get sold to beef processors. Due to this, Wisconsin†s number of beef cattle has been increasing. Wisconsin had 1.29 million dairy cows as of July 1, according to the Wisconsin Agricultural Statistics Service. The state had 260,000 beef cattle, a 2% increase from July 2000. If I had the other three firms information on the market value they have. I could figure out if the market is highly concentrated or somewhat competitive using the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index which you showed us in class. Wisconsin beef producers are definitely concerned about the latest news of Smithfield†s plans involving Packerland and American Foods. Tom Thieding, a spokesman for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation said, â€Å"Any time in a consolidation, you just lose the marketing and price opportunity.† State Agriculture Secretary Jim Harsdorf also expressed his concern about the consolidation saying â€Å"we need to make sure there†s still opportunity and competition out there, or the producers are the ones who are going to see their margins cut.† The nation†s livestock sector is already highly concentrated, a point that is made repeatedly by farm organizations and others. Serious questions have been raised about vertical and horizontal integration and market power that puts small livestock producers at a disadvantage and puts consumers at risk. The farmers know that the Smithfield acquisitions further concentrate U.S. meatpacking and eliminate an important competitor in the purchase of livestock, very likely resulting in lower prices for producers. Smithfield believes that it must consolidate in order to keep up with other companies and to provide for their customers. But to make a profit the beef and pork processors will be under pressure to pay fair prices to farmers. But the farmers have a very important role in this equation, they supply the product. If the farmers don†t have an economic incentive to produce, the processors will not be able to deliver to their customers. Smithfield†s plan to buy American Foods could be reviewed by the U.S. Department of Justice to address the possibility of an antitrust. As we learned in class the antitrust policy tries to promote competition and discourage collusion. But Smithfield believes that American Foods is small enough that the deal won†t need regulatory review. The deal with Packerland foods was reviewed and approved by the federal government. Smithfield believes that they are a growing company; they will not approach the size of industry leaders IBP, ConAgra and Excel. To beef producers the debate is not theoretical. Mike Riechers, a cattle farmer in southwestern Wisconsin said he believes the competition among cattle buyers dropped in 1998 after Packerland took over the operations Murco Foods. With Smithfield buying Packerland and American Foods farmers are concerned that competition could drop even further. In conclusion, consolidation is taking many other forms: â€Å"mergers,† â€Å"partnerships,† â€Å"integration,† and similar terms are being used to describe a variety of business arrangements that result in the same final product: fewer people making decisions in agriculture. In many ways, agriculture is just catching up with the rest of the business world, which has been consolidating at a record pace for the past several years. Meanwhile the farmer will become a grower, providing the labor and often some of the capital, but never owning the product as it moves through the food system and never making the major management decisions. Most consumers already put no thought into the financial cost of growing the hay that fed the cow that ends up on your plate.

Use Of Military Force Against Terrorism - 1096 Words

In the wake of the September 11th terrorist attacks, the United States government passed a series of resolutions and acts that can be considered controversial by many. One of these resolutions is the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists (AUMF). This resolution allows the President â€Å"To use all necessary and appropriate force against those nations, organizations, or persons he determines planned, authorized committed or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11th 2001†¦Ã¢â‚¬ (S.Res. 107-40). The resolution also mentions that it applies to those who were harboring said terrorists. This resolution was passed one week after the attacks, and it was passed by a resounding majority of four hundred twenty yea†¦show more content†¦While some might say that this is not a topic that directly affects Americans, in 2011 an American citizen was killed overseas in Yemen because of this resolution. Anwar-al-Awlaki was an American Citizen; he was killed by a drone strike while he was visiting Yemen. It was suspected that Awlaki was a high-ranking member of Al-Qaida, however it was never proven. The Obama administration also fought not to release information regarding Awlaki’s case in many lawsuits, claiming that they did not need to disclose the information (Ackerman). As of 2014, no definitive proof has been given regarding the relationship between Al-Qaida and Anwar-al-Awlaki. Another debate that stems from this issue has to do with the possibility of a similar incident happening on our soil. Theoretically, a US citizen, living on US soil, could be classified as a terrorist and also be killed on US soil, with the AUMF being used as justification. One of the main concerns with the AUMF is that no trial in necessary in order to be declared guilty, and that is where most of the controversy arose from when it came to the killing of Anwar-al-Awlaki. While this resolution was passed fourteen years ago, its implicatio ns are still being felt today. Another issue with the AUMF is that it is technically unconstitutional. The Bill of Rights applies to every US citizen, but if the President presumes
